My husband Mario & I (Fiona) have been married since 2006, dated since 1998.
We rented for 5 to 6 years before buying our first home in Sunbury, Victoria Australia in 2004.
8 years later we had a daughter, Olivia and 2 years later we decided it was time to move back towards the city a little bit to give Olivia a better education (we hope), and a shorter commute for us each day to work.
Currently the outer suburbs of Melbourne Victoria are rapidly growing. There are dozens of new estates in all directions from the city center. We concentrated our search to the North of Melbourne as this is the area that i grew up in and felt most secure with. Choosing to move closer to the city, does mean that a downsize in land is inevitable. But we believed that the sacrifice of land is outweighed by the gaining of quality time spent with our family rather than traveling to and from work, savings in petrol costs, and being closer to metropolitan Melbourne.
Our choice was Aspect Estate, in Greenvale, 29 kilometers from Melbourne CBD. Only 12km’s for Mario’s travel to work, rather than 30km’s from Sunbury. For me, I’ve cut off 20km’s from 39kms to 19km. I can’t wait to arrive home at 5:30pm rather than after 6pm, maybe I’ll go for a walk!!
